When the Engine Knocks: Worship Is the Oil
Date Published

WORSHIP
It's my red car, the engine just got knocked. I don't really know what the problem is. I fuel it
regularly, I dare not take it out without giving it a perfect wash, I wash it myself and take care of its interior.
I'd rather board a public transport than to drive my car on a rough untarred road. What could actually be the
problem?
I called my mechanic to tell him the problem and without much explanation he told me the car
had no oil. How will just the engine oil affect and stop the whole car from working?
Hmmmm....
That reminds me, I forgot to pray before leaving home today. It's not my prayerlessness that made my car to
knock down but something is actually missing in my prayer life and that is WORSHIP. I remember I couldn't
pray for so long yesterday, I was not just connected. My bible study also was dry, I was reading a verse over
and over it still made no sense. Now I remember that verse that says “I'll enter his gates with thanksgiving and
his courts with praise”; this means that my prayer life lolwithout worship is outside the presence of God. I can
only connect to God in deep, true worship. No wonder it's hard for me to pray. O Lord I worship you, be thou
exalted, be thou glorified, be praised oh Lord both now and forevermore. Amen.
Always note that without worship your spiritual life will knock down.

Worship isn’t seasonal. Don’t give God a few days—give Him your life, daily, in spirit and sincerely.
