The Goal is Peace

The goal is peace

There's a kind of exhaustion that comes when you're the only one at the giving end of life.

Relationships.

Friendships.

Work.

Family.

When it seems your efforts go unnoticed,

Your investments go haywire,

And you wonder how things fell apart.

Where did I go wrong?

How did I get here?

Is it a crime to care for others?

To genuinely love others?

To shower the world with realness?

Maybe it isn't worth it,

Maybe I should become cold,

Maybe I should stop practicing genuine love.

I'll be neutral,

I'll be unaffectionate,

I'll be cool.

Before you go on that path,

the path of coldness, let's talk a bit,

Through the mouth of the scriptures.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are disappointed. Proverbs 15:22

Why the investment?

With what motive do you invest in humans?

Are you pouring out into others with the mindset of expecting something in return, or because the spirit of Christ in you is to water others?

He that waters must be watered,

I understand.

I get misunderstood easily,

I understand.

Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. Proverbs 25:17

Vs 21 goes further to say

If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

Vs 22, For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.

Human investment is amazing.

Expect betrayals,

Expect nonchalant souls,

Expect gratitude,

Expect rewards,

Expect pain.

Two sides of a coin, you might say,

That's why it's called life,

Mortal men and our unpredictable nature.

Before I drop my pen, let me give you a hack,

It's okay to withdraw,

It's okay to go back to God for clarity,

It's okay to voice out.

But remember;

It's not okay to stop investing in humans,

Never devalue yourself along the line.

If it drains you, leave!

If it makes you question your worth, flee!

If it affects your mental sanity, run!

The goal is peace.

Relationships

Beyond butterflies, this is a call to embrace God's love—a love that pursues, restores the broken, and silences lies of unworthiness.
