Temple Check: Caring for the Body God Gave You

Health Talk Highlight - Caring for Your Body, Caring for Your Purpose A few weeks ago, we had a short health talk in church called “Understanding BMI – Caring for Your Body, Caring for Your Purpose.” It reminded us that our bodies are very important to God. In 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, the Bible says our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. That means we should take good care of them. We talked about something called BMI—Body Mass Index. It is a number you get by using your height and weight. The formula is [weight in kg ÷ height in m²]. It helps you know if your weight is okay or if you need to make some changes. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is healthy. If it is lower or higher, it might mean there is a health problem. The speaker also gave us simple tips: eat healthy food, drink enough water, get good sleep, and try to move your body every day. Taking care of your body helps you feel better and live the life God wants for you. Small steps make a big difference.
