ALIGN: Obedience Is the Road to His Perfection.

Date Published

ALIGN

"Align" might not be an everyday word, but it’s a familiar one. In this context, let’s think

of it as becoming perfect.

Matthew 5:48 (KJV)

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

We understand that being perfect isn’t humanly possible in our own strength. Yet, Jesus

still calls us to pursue perfection, the standard of God Himself, the most perfect being.

One of the most powerful ways we can move toward this kind of perfection is by aligning

ourselves with His will. It is God’s will that you pray without ceasing, that you prosper,

that you meditate on His Word day and night, and that His Word never departs from

your mouth. It is His will that we give generously and that we love deeply.

When you reflect on everything He has asked of you—whether through Scripture or

personal conviction—you’ll notice that each instruction reflects His own nature.

So how can we become more like Him, if not by aligning with His will? And this is where

obedience comes in. When you obey, you align—and when you align, you become more

like Him.

It’s perfectly okay to desire success, influence, and impact. But don't forget, love, giving,

prayer, and the Word. He is not a partial God. To truly be like Him, you must obey every

word, not just the ones that are convenient.
